The most common and popular choice for prospective English teachers are the private “hogwans” (teaching institutions). The typical hogwan runs from 3:30pm to 9:30pm, Monday to Friday. The earlier classes consist of young children. As the day progresses, your classes will be made up of older students. Elementary school teaching revolves around stories and games, while the older kids participate in conversation classes. Qualified and experienced teachers may find employment at universities. Universities offer shorter teaching hours and long holidays but require far more effort in the way of marking and preparation.
My job is to help you find employment that is not out of your depth. I found the work fun and rewarding, as do the majority of teachers. It is also great preparation for future jobs in a variety of fields.
